Year 4
PE days
PE days will be announced on Tuesday and Wednesdays.
Please make sure that your child wears their active uniform on this day so that they can fully take part in their PE lessons.
Daily Focused Reading (DFR)
Children in Key stage 2 are taught reading through Daily Focused Reading or DFR. This approach allows teachers to explicitly teach particular content domains in depth and ensure understanding. We use a range of quality texts to explore a range of genres and types of literature. DFR is delivered though a daily lesson.
Homework
Homework is given out on Fridays and is due back the following Monday.
Reading books are changed every week.
Year 4 times tables tests
In the summer term children in year 4 are tested on their times tables knowledge. Please help them prepare for the test by practising at home and by using times tables rockstars which can be accessed by clicking on the link below:
